    Job Description: 

    PRIMARY PURPOSE:

    Coordinate and prepare all PEIMS submissions to Texas Education Agency. Responsible for District Student data support. 

    QUALIFICATIONS: 

    Education/Certification:
    High school diploma or GED

    Special Knowledge/Skills:

    • Ability to use calculator (10-key by touch)
    • Ability to use personal computer and software such as word processing, spreadsheets, and databases
    • Ability to prioritize workload to meet established deadlines
    • Knowledge of PEIMS process
    • Proficient skills in typing, keyboarding, and file maintenance
    • Proficient skills in communications, both written and oral
    • Ability to use Skyward technology and Skyward student and finance software
    • Knowledge of the Internet and ability to navigate in that environment 

    Experience:

    • Three years of school student accounting experience, preferred
    • Three years of school finance experience, preferred 

    MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES: 

    Public Education Information Management System (PEIMS) 

    1. Assist district personnel in maintaining student and staff data necessary for submission to TEA. 
    2. Coordinate and oversee PEIMS submissions with district personnel. Serves as TEA PEIMS Coordinator. 
    3. Prepare District PEIMS information for submission to the Education Service Center by designated deadlines. 
    4. Prepare reports using PEIMS data as requested by District personnel and outside entities. 
    5. Prepare and presents district procedures related to maintenance of student data needed for PEIMS records. 
    6. Responsible for planning and implementing a training schedule for district personnel regarding PEIMS reporting.
    7. Keep informed of and comply with District and state policies, regulations and laws concerning primary job functions.
    8. Ensure that the following state data bases are kept accurate and maintained for the district information PIP, PET, TREX. 
    9. Assist district personnel with TSDS submissions such as ECOS, RF Tracher, SPP1-14
    10. Submit weekly student enrollment tracking submissions as required by TEA.

    Student Management System 

    1. Set up users for the Student Management software. 
    2. Assist in preparing reports related to student data as needed by District personnel. 
    3. Communicate with Student Management System software company regarding needs of District. 
    4. Serve as the contact for District personnel regarding issues involving the Student Management System software and data related to attendance and student records. 
    5. Coordinate Installation of Student Management System updates as described by procedures.

    Records and Reports 

    1. Maintain physical and computerized files including PEIMS and student data records. 
    2. Submit to Superintendent a summary of the PEIMS information submitted to the ESC. 
    3. Other duties as assigned.

    • Implement state and federally mandated student assessment programs for the district.
